I Scream, You Scream: Frozen Treats Giveaway

When I was pregnant, we got in the habit of making chocolate chip sundaes. I’d pop a few slice and bake cookies in the oven. As soon as I took them out – still gooey and hot – we’d put them in a bowl, cover them with way more than the recommended serving size of vanilla ice cream, and then squirt chocolate syrup on top.

It was SO GOOD.

Sometimes we’d mix it up with Oreos or brownies instead of the cookies. But always, always, the combination of warm chocolate and cold vanilla ice cream was pure pig-out magic.

These days, I’m holding onto my determination to lose weight and live healthy with a desperate, barely-holding-on grip, but even I know that big bowls of ice cream sundaes is not in my best interests.

Lucky for me, I can find plenty of healthier frozen treats in the grocery store. And with dozens of new treats introduced just this year, the Breyers/Klondike/Popsicle/MAGNUM/Good Humor family has given me even more options.

Popsicle now offers Yosicles, which are part popsicle, part frozen yogurt. And even though they include flavors like watermelon, purple berry and cotton candy, each variety of low-fat pops actually contains 10% nonfat yogurt and is an excellent source of calcium per [two-pop] serving.

And then there’s the mini MAGNUM bars. According to MAGNUM, they’re “offering the same delicious taste in a smaller, yet equally delightful and decadent form with the debut of its MAGNUM® Mini line.” Hello! When it comes to my chocolate, I will take delightful and decadent, yes, I will.

Now, if you don’t mind, I don’t want to talk about the Klondike Choco Tacos (tacos! made of chocolate! and ice cream!) and ice cream sandwiches, nor do I want to dwell on the new Good Humor bar with York peppermint patties. Nope, let’s not talk about it. Or look at pictures and drool…

The Breyers Blasts!, though? Now that I know about them – particularly the OREO Birthday Blast! that features OREO cookie pieces and rainbow sprinkles in artificially flavored cake flavored frozen dairy dessert – what?! – I’m not sure I can resist.
