Do you have a remarkable faith?

re·mark·a·ble

[ri-mahr-kuh-buhl]
–adjective

1. notably or conspicuously unusual; extraordinary: a remarkable change.
2. worthy of notice or attention.

Synonyms: arresting, conspicuous, curious, distinguished, exceptional, greatest, important, impressive, marked, memorable, miraculous, momentous, notable, noteworthy, outstanding, phenomenal, prominent, rare, salient, signal, significant, singular, smashing, solid, striking, surprising, uncommon, unique, weighty, wonderful

Is your belief a remarkable one? Is your story significant? Are the moments of your faith walk memorable?

Absolutely! If you believe, you have a remarkable story. And over the next eight weeks, I want to hear those stories! Each Thursday during Lent, I’m going to write about some of the most memorable moments in my faith story [so far]. But this isn’t just about me. I hope you’ll write about your own moments and then link up with me each week.

Here are the topics I’ll be writing about. Edited to add: Your post doesn’t necessarily have to be about your wedding or baptism (or – yikes! – funeral), just the most memorable or significant one you’ve attended. I actually won’t be writing about my own wedding or baptism in my posts!

March 10 – Baptism
March 17 – Wedding
March 24 – Funeral
March 31 – Worship
April 7 – Bible study
April 14 – Prayer
April 21 – Communion

Will you join me in writing about your remarkable faith? I can’t wait to get started – and to learn your stories!

  1. Looking forward to hearing your testimony, Mary! :) I don’t know that I’ll link up every week, but I’ll definitely be reading.

  2. Cindy in PA says:

I love your idea Mary and I’m going to “give it a shot.” (Are my Texas roots showing I wonder?)

  3. Shelly W. says:

Wow! What a fantastic idea, Mary. I get a little queasy just thinking about sharing some of that stuff, so I’ll have to really think about it. But it might just be good for me to work through. The vulnerability thing we learned about at Blissdom and all, you know???

    • Mary @ Giving Up on Perfect says:

It IS scary to talk about – or write about – these things, isn’t it? For some reason, I find it scarier here than on (in)courage – but I think it will be good. It might be good to write through it, even if you don’t post it. Although, if you’re like me, it’s tempting not to “bother” with writing that won’t see the light of the internet…

  4. This is a GREAT idea. Whew! couldn’t come at a better time for me!

I’m in! This sound really fun! I can’t wait to participate and also to be inspired by other people’s “Remarkable Faith”! I’ll porbably end up switching around March 17 and March 24, though, because there is something really important for me to share on March 17….

  8. Rochelle says:
