We have vision boards which are just glorified teenage bulletin boards, but maybe if you present it in that way to Mark he would be willing to let you have one. We post anything on our vision boards that we think is nice or might affect our lives or that we just need to see on a daily basis...like a clean, organized laundry room. For us...a laundry room that we don't have to insert quarters into.

Anyway, just an idea.

Haven't been over in a while -- with the move and all I've been behind on visiting blogs.

Funny thing about your laundry room -- I guess mine is now half in/half out -- when hubs went to put the washer/dryer next to the other they wouldn't fit in the space allocated as the "laundry room" so the dryer sits outside the door in the garage. I guess it works. It's not pretty. It's not very functional yet. But I'll get there -- at least I can get wash done -- and I'm still looking for somewhere real special to hang my "I hate laundry" plaque! :)

Our washer and dryer are located in the garage also. Your walls are so nice and white and clean looking. The previous owners of our house painted the laundry area yellow and now years later it's dirty, won't come clean, and we never think to paint it. How embarrassing that I've just admitted that. I'm good at folding and putting laundry away the same day, but I don't have a toddler or a full-time job outside of the home. So you have legit reasons for the piles in my book! :)

First, I feel like I should welcome myself back.

Our laundry room is also our garage, and because it's a florida garage, it's bloody hot and occasionally inhabited by bugs, so the clothes don't stay out there any longer than they have to! We just keep the piles in our bedrooms, or on the living room floor. :)

I actually have three, count 'em, three various bulletin boards where I post random cards, pictures, inspiring pages from magazines {some of what my ideal weight looks like, just ignore the dart marks in those} and such. Oh, actually, four if you count the giant one that holds all the Christmas photo cards we got from folks.

The teen in me refuses to die.

I redid my laundry room closet about a year ago, and actually got some organization going on! I bought two of the 2-drawer shelf-type thingies at Walmart and put them together into a stack of 4. I bought a new stackable HE washer and dryer to give me more room, so they are stacked. I assigned the top drawer and top of the stacker to hold my laundry supplies and wastebasket for lint, the 2nd drawer is for reds, the 3rd for whites, and the 4th for jeans/colors. This is only for the clothes of my 3 boys, mind you, but I can easily see when the drawers are full, and each drawer is just about a full load's worth. I keep mine and Jeremy's clothes in a hamper in our bathroom, so it's not as easy, but I love how my laundry room is set up now. I'll take a pic later. :)
