This blogging thing is amazing, no? One day, I blogged about being the last person alive to own – and love – a VCR. The next day, I had a message from another blogger, who happens to have an awesome site about organizing, offering to send me all her kids’ old videos.
Because, as I may have mentioned, nobody else really uses a VCR anymore.
I said, sure! I thought it’d be great. And then I kind of forgot about it.
Until today, when the mailman delivered a diaper box FULL of videos to my house! I’m talking two dozen Veggie Tales, Blues Clues and Disney movie videos! It’s like Christmas!
For the kiddo. Not me. No, surely I wasn’t the one so excited I had to find my husband’s pocket knife and slice open the packing tape. Right. Now.
Umm, actually, I guess I should be glad that was me. Wouldn’t look so good on the parenting resume to have my 17-month-old wielding a pocket knife.
Anyway, I’m quite sure that me singing along to Beauty and the Beast is helping the kiddo’s ear infection. Oh yes, a little Belle and Gaston and Beast is just what the doctor ordered.
Thanks, Tanna! (If you need organization tips, check out her site today!)
What’s your favorite animated movie?

for classic disney movies, cinderella hands down. you just gotta love gus gus! but i do love beauty and the beast too!
lookie you with the new background! love it! although if i may offer a little constructive criticism, the font could be a tad bigger. although i guess i could finally get glasses too! :-) it just seems smaller than it used to be.
i missed seeing you last night… hope babygirl is getting better!
I agree with Erin… I love the new blog background, and yes, maybe the font could be a tad bigger!
Well, it’s been many years since I’ve watched animated movies, but I’d have to say 101 Dalmatians would be a fave.
I just watched Beauty and the Beast yesterday! (well, most of it) And I also recently got my own copy (no, not the copy I watched yesterday;) Yay for getting a large and unexpected care package! Love those! :D
Hmm, although the font is smaller, I think it does like nice and streamlined… it’s too bad blogger doesn’t allow smaller borders! (then maybe you could have the best of both worlds?;)
I’m not sure what my favorite animated movie is… but I do like Veggie Tales videos. :) And I like the music in ‘The Little Mermaid’
Just for the record, don’t blame DCR Design for the font – that was all me. :( I made it a little bigger. Is that better? :)
How nice is that???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The little mermaid, Peter Pan and Cinderella for Disney. Then I have to go with Emperors New Groove…I never get sick of watching it, kronk is brilliant.
We have a vcr and use it. But now it is in the kids room and that frustrates me because some of my favorite movies are on VHS. Enjoy your (I mean toddlers:) new movies!
I do too, Busy (well, a combo VCR/DVD player), and so was thinking, ‘hey, she could’ve sent them to me!’ But then I remembered they’re all kids’ movies, so I really shouldn’t be so selfish. ;) (even though I do like some of them! Too bad I don’t live closer to you, Mary — then I could come over and ‘babysit’ — i.e., watch movies with Annalyn;)
i still faithfully use my vcr. it’s hard not to when so many of my tapes have yet to die. why replace them if they work?
i think i would go beauty and the beast. it seems almost like a cliche answer, but the reason so many people love it is because it really is that good. it’s the most like a musical (thus it could be turned into one – though the movie’s better), and belle’s a girl with a little substance! and perhaps i can relate to her in the fact that no one can relate to her in the same ways no one can relate to me. (got that? ;) )
