I resolve to be resolute.

Every year, I make the same resolution. And every year, I break it.

That resolution? To floss more.

Yep. I’m not a good flosser. There. Now you know.

This year, I don’t think I’m going to make any resolutions. Goals, yes. Plans, of course. But not any start-on-January-1-and-break-by-January-15 resolutions. I think I’ll take a year off.

What about you? Do you make resolutions? Have you ever kept a resolution? What are your goals for 2009?

Take heart, I’m not a good flosser either. My new dentist encouraged it, but didn’t make me feel so guilty about it (as past dentists have). Have you discovered that hand-held Reach flosser? I like that better and while it’s not as good as the actual floss, it has to be better than not flossing at all.

Anyway, my resolutions/goals/hopes for 2009 are pretty much the same as they are every year. But I have less excuses (the big one was always grad school) this year, so maybe I’ll be successful!

I have a rough draft on this subject I was thinking of posting tomorrow, but mine is boring so I might not. I usually don’t make resolutions, or I should say I don’t verbalize them. There are things on my mind (goals) I want to work on and I pray about them, but I don’t like failing publicly so I keep it private (stupid, I know). Maybe one of my goals for 2009 should be authenticity and transparency? Ya know… work on all my issues! btw, hope you are able to stick to your goal of flossing more. Healthy teeth and gums are definitely important.

I finally got a flossing habit started using a Gripit Floss Holder – http://www.gripit.biz. With these handy devices, I don’t have to put my fingers into my mouth. I feel good about using Gripits too because they are not a throw-away product to clog land fills. Floss refills from local drug and grocery stores replenish the Gripit floss supply when it runs out. They come with 50 yards.

i never make resolutions. i don’t like people telling me what to do, and i feel like people make resolutions just because they’re “supposed to.” i might have one in a month, but i always refuse to have one jan. 1st.

I don’t make resolutions because they make me feel like a failure. Is that terribly unstable?

I know I saw you recently, Photo, and I’m very thankful for that, but 4 days if too long for you to go without a new post!

Oh — I don’t really make resolutions either. I think of some in my head, but I don’t really make a commitment to them. And I kind of do that all year long, actually. Make resolutions in my head and don’t keep them. ;) And I’m a terrible flosser (how is that not a word? it’s underlining it in red, but what else would one call it??) too. It’s just so difficult to get the floss out once I get it stuck in there! Probably because they need to be flossed more. But anyway… ;)
