Month of Thanksgiving

This month, in honor of Thanksgiving, I’m going to share something that I’m thankful for each day. My original plan was to just do it on Thursdays, but my list was too long! So, daily (or as close to it as I can) it is. I hope you’ll share some things you’re thankful for, too! Let’s get started…
On November 1, I’m thankful for seasons. I love the changing weather and the different colors and even the different feelings that each season creates (Fall is a little bit fresh start, a little bit reminiscing; spring is hopeful and busy; summer is carefree and fun and hot; winter is Christmas and birthdays and family.).

As I’ve mentioned before, my favorite season is fall. I love the colors, the crisp air, the smell of burning wood. It reminds of me of the time in life when I met my husband. And now it’s going to be Photobaby’s season, too, with her October birthday!
So, today, as we enjoy brilliantly colored leaves and 75-degree temps, I am thankful for seasons.
What’s your favorite season?

mmmm…i love me a good summer. but i must say, the first part of Fall is probably my favorite. brisk mornings, cool evenings, pleasant afternoons, colors appearing that ive never seen before! yup. Fall.

I am thankful to serve a God that truly calls me to be me.

In terms of seasons, I personally dig Winter. Although if you take the allergies away, Fall and Spring are pretty awesome too. And of course that leaves Summer… well, it’s alright, but it’s just too dang hot!

What a wonderful idea. I might do something similar. There really is so much we can be thankful for.

My favorite season is summer. For me there is nothing quite like sitting in a beach chair on the sand with a warm breeze blowing through my hair, feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin, digging my toes into the sand, the smell of the salty ocean and Coppertone sunblock, the sun glistening on the water with pelicans skimming across the surface, the sound of seagulls and waves gently crashing on the shore.

Cold weather just seems to paralyze me. I have a hard time crawling out of bed. I can’t seem to get motivated or energized in the winter. I enjoy fall and spring when they are unseasonably warm. :) Oops, this is so long. Are you sorry you asked?

i like fall. i was even going to do a post on that. but you sum it up well. :)
when i was in college, one of my roommates bought a Christmas tree and couldn’t wait to put it up, but it was before thanksgiving, so it just seemed wrong. so she put it up anyway and we decorated it out of construction paper, on which we then wrote something for which we were thankful every day.

I have to say "Fall" or as I like to call it Autumn. Having grown up in South Florida most of my life, I didn't experience the changing of the colors or smell of the fire going…at least not every year. However, we used to go to North Carolina & Tennessee when I was young, go camping and all in Oct. when the leaves had changed. This year is our first year as a family to experience hints of my namesake…since we moved we are enjoying the cooler weather, some of the leaves changing, and even a fire or 2 when it's chilly.

Summer.. no fall.. no wait winter. For sure not spring though.. okay so the only season I don’t like is spring because around here it still feels like winter. Oh and the second half of February gets on my nerves.

  7. hobbitsister says:

summer is my favorite, for pretty much all the reasons brenda gave.
fall has special memories for me, though – enrique and i met, had our first date, and fell in love in the fall (not all in the same year, though), and we were married in october (16 years ago). enrique, erma, and i all have fall birthdays, too.

  8. photoqueen says:

Hi all! Thanks for playing. :) Mocha, I feel your allergy pain, man! That does make a difference, doesn’t it?

I think I might like summer more if I lived where Brenda does. Here it’s just hot and humid. Well, not FLA humid. But still pretty bad.

  9. chelleybutton says:

I like summer the best because it means I’m off work. :D But I like all seasons for different reasons, except I really hate driving in bad weather conditions. :( And actually, I probably wouldn’t like winter hardly at all if it weren’t for the holidays and the food. ;)
