No, I don’t really agree with this quote. But as I designed my blog and considered answering all the questions in the “My Profile” section, I was bummed that there’s not a spot for my favorite TV shows. A spot for movies? Yes. Books, yes. TV, no.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I love movies, and reading is my favorite thing to do. But TV? Well, sometimes it’s what gets me from Monday to Friday. Sometimes, and I’m only admitting this to you, it’s what tells me what day it is. (What’s today? Oh yeah, it’s Office-Day, I mean, Thursday.) So, in order to share this part of my life with you that should not be so important…but really is…here are my favorite TV shows.
New shows:
Chuck
NCIS (no, it’s not new, but I just discovered it last summer)
Not-new shows:
The Office
Grey’s Anatomy
Bones
So You Think You Can Dance
Cable shows:
Monk
Psych
My Boys
What Not to Wear
Old, canceled shows:
Gilmore Girls
Veronica Mars
Ed
Friends
JAG
Felicity
So, that’s it. That’s what I had to say today. I wrote a page about multitasking, several paragraphs about irony and friendship, and this is what I came up with. TV.
What are YOUR favorite TV shows?

have you joined facebook yet? it has a spot for TV shows ;)
and did you see that monk & psych are now on nbc? pretty cool for us non-cable-owners if you ask me ;)
oh, and my favorites that i can think of right now are the office (yay for a new episode tonight!:), project runway, and what not to wear; and for old/canceled shows, i really liked quantum leap & the cosby show (& kids, inc.:) — that’s all that’s coming to mind now… oh, and for crime shows, i like criminal minds b/c of shemar moore :D, but it’s a bit too disturbing :(
don’t feel bad about talking about tv instead of all the other stuff; sometimes i find it too hard to explain what i’m thinking about deep subjects anyway — tv helps explain things better, right? ;)
I’m on Facebook but don’t really do anything other than respond to people who request to be my friend or leave me notes.
I used to love Monk, but after 7 or 8 seasons, it’s the same thing every episode. But I still watch. And I really love Psych. A lot. It reminds me of Encylopedia Brown. (Did you ever read those books?)
I can’t handle Criminal Minds. But YAY for The Office tonight!!
it’s ok, photo. today is ‘dancing with the stars’day. :)
there’s that, and ‘the office’, ‘lost’, ‘miss guided’, and sometimes ‘my name is earl’day. oh yeah, and sunday is ‘twins game’day now. :)
i think i could be a ‘bones’ and ‘house’ fan i think, but i always forget about them.
oh, i forgot to mention ‘house’ — i like that one too, but haven’t watched it for a while. sometimes it’s too graphic for me (like all the crime shows, but not as bad:)
Hey – I just discovered Miss Guided. As someone who’s (at least mentally/emotionally) stuck in high school, it really hits home for me! :)
i think “the office” is probably my current favorite.
i also like “what not to wear”, “miss guided”, “csi:ny”, and i’ll admit to liking “american idol” too.
we’re starting to watch reruns of “8 simple rules”, and with one of my daughters in her early teens and the other one just about there, it’s funny/scary how it hits close to home (although my girls will NOT dress like that or have that much freedom with boys!)
Have you seen the episodes of “8 Rules” following John Ritter’s death? I’m a sap, but I think they’re really powerful. I was very impressed how the show handled that situation.
the ones right after he died were really well done
i was very impressed with the writers and directors in those first few episodes. and the actors did an amazing job, especially since it was all so soon for them.
